Take the stress test, then sip and chill
If you’ve wondered what ever happened to LTR, in a word: Moving. As in going from a leafy, bucolic suburb near NYC to LTR’s “hometown” of San Francisco.
Alas, while what is quaintly known as “household goods” is lurching its way across the country (read snowstorms, truck breakdowns “somewhere in the midwest”), LTR is appreciating the pure beauty of a white porcelain Limoges teapot and realizing that Yixing clay tea pots from China really do make a difference. After buying a poor imitation of a Yixing as a local Chinese housewares store in San Francisco that looked like the trusty Yixing pot, the proof as they say, was in the cup. No contest! Tea in the imitation yixing tasted bland and weak, while LTR remembered the depth of flavor in the orig. Lesson #1 learned over and over again: Whether it’s a tea pot, a handbag, or a pair of shoes, buy original.
If you’ve ever done the cross-country hop – or just across town — you’ve probably heard about the Holmes Rahe scale that scores “life experiences.” .See where you fit in:
